Weddings at Bridgeport Art Center

The Bridgeport Art Center encapsulates urban Industrial within two unique spaces. If you’re looking for an upscale version of that quintessential Chicago loft vibe, this is your place.

This modern edit to a historic 1911 building has created two spaces refurbished with an eye toward a contemporary industrial feel that is still sophisticated. The vibe is a relaxed loft, but with a refined touch that could make it the perfect fit for something as important as your wedding. Plus, I love that it’s a bit out of the ordinary and most likely somewhere your guests have never been.

The enormous spaces are raw—exposed brick, natural wood, bare metal—but that means you can take the space and make it utterly yours. And as any Chicagoan will tell you, exposed brick is very much a Chicago thing. For some, they may want to cover up the unfinished bits with lush decor, but for others looking to balance relaxed comfort with sophistication, Bridgeport Art Center may be your perfect solution.

Ceremony & Reception Spaces

Skyline Loft: This enormous, top floor space is industrial yet polished. A row of skylights lets in soft light, and the exposed brick and wooden beams imbue the space with warm tones. Plus, as an added surprise, the space boasts views of the Chicago skyline you’d never expect. It seats 600 for dinner and 900 for a cocktail reception.

Sculpture Garden: Tall, beamed ceilings, dramatic draping, and floor-to-ceiling french doors give this ground floor space a phenomenal indoor-outdoor feel. The partially covered patio is truly spectacular and is dotted with sculptures from local artists. The covered “ceiling” provides the option for an outdoor space in the Midwest with a little bit less to worry about when it comes to Mother Nature. If you are using the space for cocktail hour, you can even add warm igloos for guests to make extra certain everyone can enjoy themselves no matter the weather! The Sculpture Garden space fits 550 seated and 900 for a reception.

Comfort meets Class at this Bridgeport Art Center Wedding

A celebration in a casual urban loft paired with the elegance of a formal soiree. In the words of the couple: “Rebecca, you were such a force of calm and positive energy. Thanks to you, I actually remember what it felt like right before our first look and tried to pause before all of the special moments of the night. You were so great at marshaling the bridal party and family and so helpful with making decisions about photo locations. As promised, you did not take us off the dance floor (except for a beautiful sunset shot) and were so stealth for the rest of the night. Your professionalism and confidence made everyone feel comfortable and secure!”

What’s Nearby?

Bridgeport Art Center is a bit removed from downtown Chicago, but I see that as a hidden positive! You get all the city vibes without the hassle of out-of-town guests struggling for parking. Add a shuttle to & from your hotel block and all problems are solved!
