Real Wedding: Regina & Paul at the Dalcy

It was March 2020. I was in Italy and one of our RMP brides-to-be sent me a pic of a white hazmat suit. The caption read: “Bridal chic?”

And that sums up who Regina and Paul are—a fantastic couple who faced down the pandemic together and refused to let it cancel their love story (or their senses of humor). Instead, they moved their wedding date … then moved it again … then just said, screw it, we’ll elope! I was there with them the day they eloped and got to be with them again this past summer when they threw a big party to celebrate their wedding at The Dalcy. After all this time, I wasn’t just photographing a bride, but someone who has truly become a friend.

The Dalcy

The Dalcy is one of those Chicago venues that knows how to serve a whole mood. Regina and Paul created a day that was chill and focused on having a great time, but still very put together with impeccable details. They used the indoor event space and the rooftop patio to give their guests plenty of space to hang out and celebrate while also enjoying the city.

The Wedding Day

As ever, Regina and Paul were a dream to work with. Throughout our years (yes, years!) of planning, they always remained kind, flexible, and just seriously good people. On the day of their celebration, the weather forecast threatened rain, so we pivoted once again and made it into something fun and authentic. Instead of locations throughout the city, we stayed at the Apartment, a chic space inside of The Hoxton. I captured the day as it unfolded with the entire bridal party getting ready together, enjoying a delicious lunch, and just hanging out. No stress. Just quality time with the people that matter most to them.

Congrats, Regina and Paul! I’m glad we got to opt for the jumpsuit rather than the hazmat one ;-)
