Cafe Brauer Wedding - Laura & Aaron
While the dates in the 2015 wedding season are winding down the amazingness is staying just as strong as ever and Laura & Aaron's day is perfect proof. As you should always do, these two celebrated in a way that reflected their personalities all while showcasing so much of the beauty & uniqueness that Chicago has to offer. Their details throughout the day nodded to stories of their relationship over the years. Starting with Aaron's Purdue cufflinks (where they met) and ending with one of our favorite locations in the city, the architecturally amazing Cafe Brauer, family & friends could tell this day showcased the style of Laura & Aaron. In keeping all of the festivities in Old Town and Lincoln park, they were able to have a relaxed day, taking in each moment without feeling rushed. Not to mention, they had the ladies of Soiree Weddings & Events at the helm to keep everything running perfectly! The Alfred Caldwell Lily Pond created the perfect oasis for Laura & Aaron to have a private First Look before getting the rest of the day started. Taking time out of your day to slow down and have a moment to soak it in is crucial to not waking up with the dreaded wedding amnesia! First Looks are some of the few ways we can do this for our couples and, as crazy as it sounds, there is no other time throughout the whole day to truly have a moment alone to yourselves.Laura's dress had pockets!! Pure genius. In Aaron's words, after he saw Laura, "Of course you have pockets." :)The historic St. Michael's in Old Town is simply stunning. Combine that with a trumpeter to announce the opening of the big doors to Laura and her dad walking down the aisle and you have a movie-like start to the ceremony! I really think trumpets were created for weddings in gorgeous churches. Gives me chills every time! The one other moment on a busy wedding day you can snag to be alone is during cocktail hour. After we captured this joy on the new Mr & Mrs, we hustled over to Cafe Brauer to document the gorgeous floral skills of Vale of Enna throughout the reception while Laura & Aaron enjoyed a leisurely stroll over to cocktail hour by themselves. We highly recommend taking the extra 5 minutes to acknowledge the fact that you are officially married!Told you Vale of Enna rocked it! We love mixing heights on centerpieces. It creates a gorgeous flow to any room. The purple wine glasses were the perfect way to bring in the day's color scheme to every detail.Laura surprised Aaron with a groom's cake that suited him perfectly! #GoCubsGoI've realized this year that most all of my favorite locations in Chicago come with 2nd story access. Can you blame me though? What a great way to capture all your loved ones that surround you on the big day.Major credit goes to Nick for what can only be considered one of the best bouquet toss photos of all time! And with that, Laura, Aaron, their family & friends celebrated the night away...Laura & Aaron, thank you so so much for entrusting us with capturing your wonderful day. All that's left now is for the Cubs to win the 2015 World Series and the celebration will be perfect! #LetsGo
