Lyss is one of those people that after you've chatted for 2 hours on your very first phone call, you could have sworn you've actually known each other for decades. Add to that the extra special experience that only destination weddings allow - a full weekend of celebrating, rather than just one busy day - and you have this year's 2nd two-parter here on the blog. From the fun of jumping in the lake during their rehearsal dinner to the stunning greenery surrounding guests as the toasted the first night of their new marriage, there were simply too many moments from their Upstate New York wedding to squeeze into one blog post. I loved being able to meet all of Lyss & Drew's closest family and friends' at Drew's parents lake house during their rehearsal dinner. While wedding days will always carry with them a certain special level of excitement, there's something unique about the first time you are welcoming and hugging your friends who have journeyed to a location, just for you (it was actually one of my favorite parts of our own wedding!). We're able to photograph the more relaxed, natural relationships between friends and family on nights like this, before all the wedding day nerves settle in.
