Seattle Destination Wedding - Katrina & Dimitri
The sound of the water running through the creek, the fresh pine smell, and the feel of the sun on your skin amidst the crisp northwest air. These are the memories that remind me of Katrina & Dimitri's Seattle Destination wedding. Beautifully, they are what Katrina & Dimitri hear in their new found home every day. And to top all of that, this stunning setting is what they brought all of their family & friends out to the Pacific Northwest to experience.
Katrina & Dimitri's wedding planning story is a unique one I'm excited to have Katrina share more of soon here on the blog, but to give a short teaser, here was one of the first things Katrina wrote to me:
"If we got married in Seattle, our wedding would be more nature themed...outdoors maybe, trees, water, etc. Our love of nature and adventure is our most common and strongest bond. Moving to Seattle was a big mile stone in both our lives individually and together. It was first time we both moved away from our families, of which we are very close to our older siblings and relied heavily on them for everything. It was also a sign that we felt strong enough as a couple to make a big life change together. Seattle is the beginning of establishing our individuality within our families and the true expression of what we love about each other."
I couldn't describe their actual wedding day any better. It was truly watching what had previously only been dreamt about (and barely whispered aloud) come alive. This emotional day has led to some of my favorite photos from the entire year. And to start things off, one of the most unique "hanging dress shots" to date...
Someone wants to be just like her Aunt Katrina (and looks about 20 doing it!).
I adore the soft neutral colors Katrina picked for her bridesmaids. Neutral dresses keep the focus on your besties and also allow you more flexibility to get creative with your bouquet choices.

Married!
I will forever remember Katrina's excitement as we led her and Dimitri to a quiet moment after their ceremony: “This is where we brought everyone! Look! This is where we live!”
Big thanks to my 2nd photographer, Shane Welch, for capturing one of my favorite moments of their sweet First Dance. The intimate moment between the two of them combined with the view of all their siblings behind them could not sum up the day more perfectly.
When you can't imagine leaving all the fun but your eyelids disagree. These cute flower girls nearly stole the show up until the very last moment.
Katrina & Dimitri, where to even begin! A huge congratulations on creating the day of your dreams and showcasing your love exactly how you wanted for all your family to see. The way you took a stand for keeping your wedding authentic to yourselves is so incredibly powerful and no doubt will be an inspiration to so many. Cheers to many, many more happy years of exploring new adventures together!!
