Honored with a Family's Legacy
Any wedding photographer on the planet will tell you: "The greatest compliment we can receive is a referral." It's absolutely true. The fact that you enjoy working with our studio so much that you'd like to encourage all of your family & friends to do the same thing is a huge compliment. And because the act of photographing your memories is an art form for us, knowing that you love what we do so much to tell others helps ease all of those self-conscious worries about whether or not we are getting this "right."But I've found something else. Something, dare I say, bigger...Meet Emily & Ryan. Well actually, if you've been following for a while, you've already met them because the below image was taken in November of 2012 on their wedding day. Emily's family is the type that welcomes you in with open bear-hugging arms within the first 5 seconds of your arrival. They are the type of people that makes "working" every Saturday of the summer not feel like working. So imagine my excitement when Emily's cousin, Gina, called me up after Aaron popped the question...And then something stunning, makes you tear up at the excitement of it all happened... Kevin, Emily's younger brother, proposed to his high school sweetheart, Whitney. And I got a call...To say I am honored is an immense understatement. See, you have to understand, Emily & I's paths originally crossed at a bridal expo in my hometown. At the time I was barely 2 years into this crazy venture & bouncing back and forth between the Quad Cities and Chicago constantly. When Emily & Ryan saw their wedding images for the first time, I was sharing a studio space half the size of the storefront I know call the RMPD home. By the time Whitney & Kevin say "I do," Nick will have become an official employee of RMPD (he's already an amazing associate photographer, making it possible for us to connect with so many more families! More on him coming next week!).These amazing people have watched us graduate from elementary school for the part-time business owner to a Master's Degree in full-time dream following. We've soared past the compliment of a referral and into a stunning realm of support. The kind of support that comes from a family you are a part of. Equally amazing, is they aren't the only ones.Enough about us though, because RMPD isn't the only one changing!!Meet Baby Jack. He's already a die hard Chicago sports fan and if he can say "Alshon" before "Daddy" that will be just fine with Ryan :)There is much more to come this week for Whitney & Kevin's engagement session, along with Baby Jack's first RMPD close-up, so stay tuned! In the meantime, to Emily, Anne, Ryan, Gina, Aaron, Whitney, Kevin and so many, many others that have supported RMPD along the way, from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU.
