a Backyard COVID Wedding - Emily & Sam

The thing I will remember the most about Emily & Sam’s backyard COVID wedding is the way Emily would squeal and jump up and down with overwhelming excitement every time she realized it was officially the day she was getting married. It was finally here! After planning a 400 person soiree, pivoting (that dreaded word) to a backyard celebration and adjusting every expectation they had envisioned for their wedding day, of course, it would then absolutely downpour smack dab in the middle of their wedding day (thank goodness for Blue Peak Tents!). Through it all, the sheer joy that radiated off of these two was palpable. Whatever the world threw at them, it didn’t make a darn bit of difference, because they had found each other and were announcing that to the world. If you’ve been following along on the blog here, you’ve heard me say this already, but I think the greatest thing to come out of a COVID wedding season is all of our renewed appreciation for what matters most. #SamGotEm and that’s what it was all about, no matter what the party looked like.

If you were thinking about skimming, be sure to not miss the very end of the emotional day. It’s going to give a whole new perspective to the beauty of rain on a wedding day (and quite frankly, Sam throwing the umbrella is going to be one of my all-time favorite images, forever).
